One of two stunning white wines we have from this producer in Friuli-Venezia on North East Italy and not an easy wine to get hold of - we only have a small allocation of both. Ronco del Gnemiz wines are characterised by bright acidity in the whites, with a very careful use of oak. All wines are made with fully mature grapes which are never overripe, and subsequently the rich fruit is the focus for both reds and whites. The Chardonnay Ronco Basso is clean, pure and brimming with exotic fruit and lemon balm with buttery notes on the finish. A slight minerality ensures freshness and balances the very well integrated hints of oak. One of my absolute favourite whites in our portfolio and they will also age beautifully
