Piedmont in North West Italy, famed for the Barolo and Barbaresco is also home to the Barbera grape and this is a fantastic example grown around the town of Alba. Dark ruby coloured in the glass with ripe red fruit and cherry and flavours on the palate with a hint of vanilla and spice. Give it a good two hour decant to soften out the tannins and drink with some red grilled meat, pasta, game or pork
